East Lindfield Community Preschool is a community preschool which has welcomed, cared for and educated children as part of the greater community for over 50 years. It is a place where our committed teachers and educators inspire our children to develop a strong sense of identity while giving them a place to belong.
We welcome families from all cultures and ethnic backgrounds and aim to honour and respect our community's diversity.
We are open Monday-Friday from 7.30am-3pm. The Preschool operates on a 4 term basis as set for the NSW Public Schools and is closed on Public Holidays and School Holidays.
East Lindfield Community Preschool is committed to the employment of staff who are appropriately qualified and experienced. All educators have formal qualifications in Early Childhood Education. Each class has a trained 4 year university early childhood teacher, and a qualified educator.
We believe that young children's play allows them to explore, identify, negotiate, take risks and create meaning. The intellectual and cognitive benefits of playing have been well documented. Children who engage in quality play experiences are more likely to have well-developed memory skills, language development, and are able to regulate their behaviour, leading to enhanced school adjustment and academic learning. Curriculum decision making contributes to each child's learning and development outcomes in relation to their identity, connection with community, wellbeing, confidence as learners and effectiveness as communicators. In play, children usually have increased feelings of success and optimism as they act as their own agents and make their own choices. Contact us for more information.
Normanhurst West Community Preschool is a Non for Profit Organisation providing quality education and care to children aged 3-5 years of age.
The Preschool operates from 9:00am until 2:30pm each weekday during school terms. Our School readiness activities and routines support and guide children to build foundations and confidence as they prepare for big school.
Our spacious indoor and natural outdoor environments allow interest based learning opportunities for children to build their own identities, to become confident and successful learners within our community.

Toilet Training
Just as your baby starts to get older, and you fall into a comfortable routine, it comes time to toilet train. And all of a sudden you find yourself in a spot where you just don't know what to do! Here are some helpful hints to get your prince or princess on the throne.
Pick the right time
Most children aren't ready to use the toilet until they are two or three years' old.
Start preparing your child
It's a good idea to prepare at least a week
Give it a go
It's a good idea to wait until you've got a quiet week at home before starting. Begin first thing in the morning by putting your child in their special underpants, and some old, loose-fitting clothes.
The first few weeks
Toilet training doesn't happen overnight; it might take your child just a few days to get the hang of it, or possibly a few weeks.
Troubleshooting
Sometimes children need a little extra help.
If you find yourself getting angry, or you feel as though your child is not responding, simply stop. Have a break and try again in a few weeks.
