FEATURED SERVICES

At Neutral Bay Kindergarten we understand that early childhood is a unique and valuable stage of life. We follow a very holistic approach to learning that incorporates a balance of both children’s interests and educator guided activities.

Our educational program is delivered in a secure and nurturing environment that fosters learning in all areas including the children’s physical, social, personal, and emotional wellbeing. We believe children learn through exploration, participation, observation and investigation, and we highly value play as an important medium of learning.

You may be asking yourself, “That all sounds great, but what does it mean”?

It means we want to help give your child the best possible start in life. It means we want them to not only develop the cognitive and social skills to prepare for school, but we also want to open their minds to new experiences and inspire a passion for learning.  Contact us for more information.

Cameragal Montessori School - Lavender Bay &
Cameragal Montessori School - Neutral Bay
We believe that the first six years of a child’s life are the most important for learning. It’s where children absorb, develop and explore and it’s where attitudes and patterns of learning are formed that last a lifetime. We think you believe that too.

No other education captures the passion and sheer joy for learning the way a Montessori education does. Give your child the best start in life – at Cameragal Montessori School.

We offer preschool and after school care - centre based care for ages: 3 years to 6 years. Hours: 8.30am to noon and afternoon care to 3:00pm for the 3- and 4-year olds. 5 - 6-year olds attend our Kindergarten program (NESA Early Stage 1). After school care is available to 6:00pm. Cameragal is open Monday to Friday, School Term time.

We provide an authentic Montessori environment which brings individualised student planning and programming together with the social and emotional education and care of each child.

Our students continue onto our Primary school Year 1 to Year 6.  Contact us for more information.

Happy Kids Early Learning was established by the Armenian Relief Society of Australia, Sosseh Chapter in 1986. We provide quality care and education for 23 children aged 2-6 years old from 7:30am to 6 pm.

Happy Kids was originally set up to support many Armenian families that lived in Sydney. Currently we have many Armenian families, as well as non-Armenian families that send their children to our centre.

We have a team of qualified, caring and experienced Armenian and non-Armenian educators who work in partnership with you and your child in forging a sense of ‘belonging, being and becoming’.
Our educational program encompasses a contemporary view on literacy, numeracy, science, art, music and language and has a focus on social and emotional development. The Armenian culture is embraced through our daily Armenian Group times and our Special Armenian Dance Program.

Apples & Honey Preschool in Chatswood welcomes Joanne (Jo) Dworkin as its new Director.

Jo brings with her over 25 years' experience working in Early Childhood. She has worked as an Educator, Teacher and Director in schools, private long day childcare centres and community based childcare centres.

Jo attended Edith Cowan University, where she specialised in Early Childhood Education.

Jo has kindly written a few words. ….."Hello. My name is Joanne (Jo) Dworkin. I was born in South Africa and moved to Australia in 1984 at the age of 11. I spent my early years in Perth."

"I believe all children have the right to learn and achieve at their own pace, and be recognised as individuals. They come with a wealth of experience from a variety of backgrounds. They progress developmentally at different stages, taking into account their strengths, abilities and areas of need."

"It is the role of the early childhood educator to harness their abilities and provide them with experiences to promote their growth. I believe that preschool programs should be based on experiences that are play-based, taking into account the children’s interests. And, the environment should be supportive, calm and nurturing."

"I look forward to meeting you at Apples & Honey Preschool."

PARENT INFORMATION

Types of child care services

Choosing the right service can be an exciting and sometimes overwhelming time for you and your child. It’s important to consider your options early and research the type of early education and care that suits your family best and will provide the best outcomes for your child.

There are many education and care options available to suit the needs of your child and your family:

+ Long Day Care
Long day care is perfect for those who work long days and need care for their children during business hours. It operates for at least 8 hours a day, typically Monday to Friday in a child care centre and caters for children, from birth to school age.

+ Family Day Care
Family day care is great for parents who want their children to learn and play in small groups, in a homelike environment. It caters for children, birth to 12 years and is held in the home of a registered educator.

+ Preschool Services
Preschool usually caters for children aged three to five years and is perfect for parents with children who are almost ready for primary school. Sometimes known as kindergarten, it can be a standalone service or part of another education and care service or school.

+ Outside School Hours Care
Outside school hours care operates before and after school and/or during school holidays. This service works well for parents with school age children, who need care outside of school hours.

These services are not regulated under the National Quality Framework (NQF):

+ Occasional Child Care
Occasional child care works on a casual basis for short periods of time. It caters for children, birth to school age and suits those who would like or need a temporary service.

+ Mobile Services
Mobile services travel through communities to offer occasional, preschool or long day care services in rural, urban and remote areas. It generally caters for children up to six years old, and is great for parents who live too far away from an early education and care service.

+ Other Child Care Options
There is a wide range of other child care options available, including family, friends, babysitters and nannies. These types of services are flexible and rely heavily on the family’s needs. They are generally run in a home and operating times may vary.
